Rules


  • The Home is run by Public Charitable Trust and the trust reserves the rights of admission.
  • The minimum age limit of inmate is minimum 60 years.
  • Ashram doesn’t provide or cater to assistive living.
  • Monthly contribution charges should be deposited before 5th of every month.
  • Monthly contribution will vary depending on the rising cost, use of water and electricity & specific requirements of the inmate.
  • Security deposit of inmate will be returned to inmate immediately without interest on the termination of the stay or leaving the premises.
  • Inmate shall give one month advance notice in writing to the Trust by inmate, who wants to leave home voluntarily otherwise one month's charges will be deducted from his deposit, if he fails to serve this notice.
  • Each room will accommodate a couple or two males or two female members.
  • If a member wants to have a separate room he has to bear double charges.
  • Inmate has to pay the contribution on pro rate basis if he or she takes admission in the middle of the month.
  • Every inmate has to pay monthly charges in time. A defaulter has to pay 2% more on monthly basis.
  • Inmate has to give a week advance notice in writing if he/she has to go out of station.
  • Inmate will be provided the following accommodation facilities in a room: One cot, mattress/bedding, 2 bed sheets, a pillow, 2 pillow covers, a blanket and a bed covers. After every six months new pillow covers and bed spreads will be provided.
  • A cupboard with separate doors will be given to each of the Inmate.
  • Bathroom/toilet with hot water facility, a toilet to be shared by occupants of the room.
  • Facility of servant can be arranged for washing clothes on payment or can use facility of common washing machine with minimum electrical charges.
  • Inmate has to bear the expenses of one’s own personal uses such as tooth-brush, soap, hair oil, medicines, etc.
  • Following time table to be noted:
    • Morning Tea:- 6 am to 7 am
    • Breakfast:- 8 am to 9 am
    • Lunch:- 12 pm to 1 pm
    • Afternoon Tea:- 4 pm to 5 pm
    • Dinner:- 8 pm to 9 pm
  • Note: Only vegetarian food will be served in the ashram.
  • A cup of milk can be served in the night to all the inmates on demand & payment.
  • Medical check-up facility will be provided to inmate every week.
  • Ashram is provided with round the clock ambulance service.
  • Ashram will take care and make arrangements to hospitalize the inmate falling ill or on getting injured.
  • Emergency visit fee of a doctor will have to be borne by the member.
  • Ashram will provide recreation facilities as TV, Library, indoor/outdoor games.
  • Telephone charges will have to be borne by inmate.
  • If a member wants to go out of the Ashram campus should inform the office. If he has to overstay more than 24 hours he should inform in writing and give the address of his stay outside the campus. He should hand over the room keys in the office.
  • The trust will not take any responsibility of a member's property or his belongings, unless deposited with the office.
  • Inmate going out of the ‘Ashram’ premises will do so on his own risk & responsibility.
  • Every inmate should abide by the rules & regulations of the Ashram/ trust.
  • Any inmate causing trouble to other inmate or the employee or member of the organisation will not be tolerated by the trust and his stay will be terminated after 7 days’ notice.
  • Possession and drinking of Alcohol by inmate or staff is strictly prohibited in Ashram.
  • Smoking and tobacco chewing is not allowed, if objected by co-inmate.
  • Playing radio, tape-recorder or T.V. etc should not cause disturbance to another room-mate.
  • Inmate having any complaint should communicate to the office in writing and should not discuss them with the employees of the trust.
  • Instructions should be provided in writing to the trust about his death-rites if desired.
  • If an inmate is injured or sick, his notified relative(s) will be informed within 8 hours and the concerned relative should reach Ashram at the earliest. Ashram trust will arrange to give medical treatment till then.
  • If an inmate dies in Ashram and if the relatives do not turn up within 12 hours despite due information to the notified relative(s), the Ashram/trust reserves the right to make arrangements to perform the funeral or last rites of such inmate.
  • The emergency expenses coming under Rule no. 26 and no. 27 should be borne by the relatives of such inmate. The same amount will be deducted from that member’s deposit money, if not paid in time within a week by the relatives. In this case the trust has the right to terminate stay of inmate.
  • Room of Ashram is not a place on rent. Hence inmate or heir of an inmate will have no right or claim on the room of an inmate, while he is alive and/or after his death.
  • No electrical appliances/gadgets allowed to be used in the rooms of the ‘ASHRAM’.
  • Inmate has to give the compensation for the lost /damaged articles and has to bear the expenses of broken articles.
